The effect of CAD on my artistic experiences

Cad has done two things that affect my experience of art.

The first thing is that it has made me realize that art is complex and emotional. Before CAD I just looked at art and maybe admired the craftmanship, realism, quality, and detail, but now I see that that is just the language. If you can write beautifully and you write a story the story isn’t necessarily better, but it certainly makes it easier to write a good story. The same thing applies to art. Being good at a certain form of artistic expression definitively helps, especially if it’s hard to do.  If it’s difficult to learn then you have a definitive advantage over other artists because some people might have a preference for ‘the story ‚ to be portrayed using a certain art form but it can’t replace artistic expression.

The other thing is that I have learned to appreciate ideas whose sole purpose is to be new. Modern art is the epidemy of this because in my opinion modern art is meant to be new and different. One of its core ideas is being different and maybe even upsetting people who like more classical art. Being unique is hard and sometimes even impossible because there have been 100 billion humans before you. Uniqueness is one of the core aspects of art and CAD made me realize that mostly just by forcing me to think about art.
